Physics trip to CERN with a daytrip to Bern - April 2017
Last week a group of A Level pupils enjoyed a four day trip to CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research where physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. The CERN laboratory sits astride the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva. Pupils were given a guided tour and allowed were to explore the world of particles in a unique and spectacular ambiance.
Pupils also visited Einstein House in Bern, once the apartment of Albert Einstein and also the Bern Historical Museum where they saw original objects and replicas along with a number animations outlining the biography of the genius Einstein and his ground-breaking discoveries.
Another part if this fabulous trip was a visit to the United Nations Palace in Geneva.
