Business and Economics for Advanced Performance Pupils
In Business and Economics classes more able pupils are encouraged to stretch themselves by engaging in discussions about how the theory they are learning interfaces with the world outside the classroom. Indeed the very nature of these subjects encourages pupils to develop their curiosity about the world we live in.
Every year there are a number of opportunities offered by the department for more able pupils to be involved in. Business pupils can take part in the ICAEW BASE competition as well as setting up and running their own business as part of the Young Enterprise Company programme. Economics pupils can attend an annual conference in London where they listen to speakers from a variety of fields discuss the economic issues of the day.
