Art trip to Barcelona February 2016

Year 12 and 13 pupils enjoyed their first foreign residential, primarily an Art enrichment, to the culturally rich Barcelona. Pupils participated in a Tapas tour in and around the Gothic Quarter, sampling Tapas and visiting the shops along  La Ramblas. Here pupils enjoyed delicious  hot chocolate and churros. Pupils also had the opportunity to visit the Joan Miro foundation, Gaudi’s Casa Mila, Casa Batlo and Parc Guell. In addition to that we also visited the Barcelona Museum of Design, the Picasso museum and Papa Bubble sweet manufacturers. Staff and pupils navigated their way across Barcelona across the excellent Metro system and stayed in an excellent central Youth Hostel.

We all had a fabulous time and all were keen to go back one day!

The trip was organised by Mrs E Wallis, Head of Department and was accompanied by Mrs K Bloomfield, Associate Assistant Headteacher.
