Pupils Conor and Louis star in 'It's a Wonderful Life' at East Riding Theatre, Beverley

Year 9 pupil Conor and Year 7 pupil Louis are to appear in a stage adaptation of Frank Capra's classic 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life this Christmas at East Riding Theatre in Beverley. Jake Smith makes his ERT directorial debut with this ever-popular Christmas classic.

Jake is a director originally from Billingham Stockton - on - Tees. He is a Resident Director at the Almeida Theatre, London. Jake began his career at Hull Truck Theatre and was the Trainee Director in Residence at Chichester Festival Theatre from 2014-2016. He is currently nominated for an Off West End Award for Best Director and recently completed the National Theatre Directors’ Course. 

Hull Collegiate School works very closley with the directors at East Riding Theatre who see the huge talent amongst our Drama pupils. These strong links have enabled Conor and Louis to secure this role and work with such a talented director.

Head of Drama Mrs Asbury said ''I'm so proud of Conor and Louis. They are both lovely boys who work so hard. They are so talented and I enjoy seeing the skills they learn transfer into their stage performance. They deserve this exciting role in 'It's a Wonderful Life'.
