Pupils filmed for TV documentary - June 2017

On Monday 19 June we welcomed Icon Films, an independent production company based in Bristol, to film some of our pupils. The project is a documentary about Philip Larkin, presented by former English poet laureate, Sir Andrew Motion which will be broadcast towards the end of Hull's City of Culture year, 2017.

One scene coincided with a cricket match where Kay Somers read Larkin's 'Wires' with the match in the background. Pupils Will, Jack, Tom, Adam and Myles staged some close up shots of balls being hit, caught, dropped etc....

In another scene Alex read a few lines of poetry with a group of fellow pupils throwing paper at him and Year 12 pupil Olivia was involoved an outside scene stiiting under a tree reading Larkin's 'Trees' which she did perfectly in one take.

The Icon crew were so impressed with the site and the performers, they got some great shots. Details of when this will be broadcast will follow.

Thank you to all pupils whe were involved in the filming, you all begaved impeccably and are a credit to the school.
